It is said that the Navgrahas are actually the Avtaars of Lord Vishnu himself - Bhagwan Narayan.
1. Surya Bhagwan - Like Lord Ram (Suryavanshi)
2. Chandra Bhagwan - Like Lord Krishna (Chandravanshi)
3. Mangal Bhagwan - Like Lord Narasimha (Hot, Lion-Headed Warrior)
4. Rahu Bhagwan - Like Lord Vraha (the Boar - who rescued BhoomiDevi)
5. Guru Bhagwan - Like Lord Vaman (the dwarf Brahmin - who grew, grew and enveloped the 3 worlds)
6. Shani Bhagwan - Like Lord Kurma the tortoise, slow moving but the winner at the end. Helped in the difficult Samudra Manthan where the devas and asuras had both failed.
7. Budha Bhagwan - Like Lord Buddha himself makes one enlightened by knowledge.
8. Ketu Bhagwan - Like Lord Matsya saved the sacred scriptures/vedas and mankind from pralay.
9. Sukra Bhagwan - Like Lord Parshuram - killed thousands of kshatriyas as per his karma.
